In the third quarter of 2023, Creepy Jar S.A. generated PLN 9.1 million in sales revenues and PLN 6.3 million in net profit. Thanks to the successful premiere of Storage and Transportation expansion pack on PC/Steam and the release of Green Hell VR on Sony PlayStation VR2 by Incuvo S.A., the company improved its financial results compared to the second quarter of this year.
Gross sales of Green Hell in the third quarter of 2023 on PC/Steam, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store platforms (versions of the game to which the Company holds publishing rights) amounted to more than 260 thousand copies, with 46 thousand copies on PlayStation and Xbox. In the third quarter of 2023, the company achieved net sales revenues of PLN 9.1 million compared to PLN 15.0 million in the corresponding period of 2022. The decrease in sales revenue by 39% y/y is the result of decreasing sales of Green Hell on key platforms, in particular on consoles. However, the company improved its results compared to the second quarter of this year, achieving sales revenues higher by 15% q/q and an increase in net profit by 80% q/q. This is a consequence of the successful premiere of Storage and Transportation expansion pack on PC/Steam and the
release of Green Hell VR on Sony PlayStation VR2 by Incuvo S.A.
In the third quarter of 2023, the company generated PLN 5.5 million in operating profit (a decrease by 46% y/y) and PLN 5.8 million in EBITDA (a decrease by 45% y/y). The net profit in the reported period amounted to PLN
6.3 million (a decrease by 41% y/y, while the net margin was 69% (a decrease by 3 p.p. y/y). On 4 September 2023, the Company paid a dividend for 2022 in the amount of nearly PLN 28.0 million, i.e. PLN 40.0 per share.
In August 2023, the Storage and Transportation expansion pack for PC/Steam was released, which introduced new ways of transporting goods, using, among others, a lift and robust sleds, as well as provided new options for storing collected resources. In the third quarter of 2023, the company was finalising its work on the Building Update expansion pack in version for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which premiered on 7 November 2023. The expansion pack significantly expanded the ability to construct and build a base with, among others, the ability to cut down larger trees and remove obstacles such as logs and stumps. The studio also informed about the decision to prepare Green Hell for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X consoles and to continue supporting and
developing the game on these platforms.
In August 2023, it has been 5 years since the premiere of Green Hell in Early Access on Steam. The game is regularly developed and enhanced with new, free content, and its gross sales have already exceeded 5 million copies. The total net revenues of Creepy Jar S.A. from this IP to date from the beginning of sales to the end of July 2023 amounted to over PLN 173 million, with total expenditure on the production and development of the title amounting to approx. PLN 16.8 million (in the period from the beginning of production to 31 July 2023).
The studio continues to work on the StarRupture. The new title includes several basic mechanics: base building, exploration, combat system and resource management on an alien planet plagued by disasters caused by the title star.. The game will be available in single player or co-op mode for up to four players. The total value of expenditures incurred on the production of StarRupture by 30 September 2023 amounted to PLN 13.5 million, with PLN 1.9 million incurred in the third quarter of 2023.
