Creepy Jar S.A.'s best half-year with PLN 28.1 million in sales revenues and PLN 18.6 million in net profit

Creepy Jar S.A. successively improves its financial results and continues its intensive production activities.

In the first half of 2022, the Company generated net revenues from the sale of Green Hell in the amount of PLN 28.1 million compared to PLN 21.2 million in the first half of 2021 (an increase by 32% y/y). The high level of sales revenue was achieved thanks to the very good sales of Green Hell on all hardware platforms, including the sales of Green Hell VR in versions for virtual reality platforms, the production and release of which is the responsibility of Incuvo S.A. The availability of Green Hell on many platforms allows to diversify the sources of the Company’;s revenues from the sale of one product. In the first half of 2022, 41% of net sales revenue was generated on the PC/Steam platform, while sales on Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox consoles accounted
for 37% of the Company's revenues. The remaining 22% are primarily royalties from entities licensed by the Company to port and distribute Green Hell on Nintendo Switch and virtual reality platforms. Green Hell’s gross
sales by volume in the first half of 2022 on PC/Steam, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store platforms (versions of the game for which the Company holds publishing rights) amounted to nearly 649 thousand copies, with 190 thousand copies on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. In July, the total gross sales of Green Hell on the a/m platforms exceeded 3.5 million copies. In the first half of 2022, the Company generated PLN 19.1 million in operating profit (an increase by 43% y/y) and PLN 19.5 million in EBITDA (an increase by 34% y/y). Net profit in the reported period increased by 54% y/y to PLN 18.6 million, and the net margin amounted to 66% (an increase by 9 pp y/y).

Due to the good reception of subsequent expansion packs and still high further sales potential, the Company will continue to support and develop Green Hell. In the first half of 2022, Spirits of Amazonia 3 on PC and Spirits of Amazonia 1 and 2 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were released. In August this year, the Animal Husbandry expansion pack was premiered on PC, which enriches the Green Hell gameplay with, among others, the mechanics of catching, taming and breeding animals: capybara, tapir and peccary. In September, new, expected achievements on Steam were also added.

– We’ve changed our approach to Green Hell expansion packs. We want to engage players even more with gameplay itself than with a storyline, which positively affects the time and cost of producing further expansion packs. By doing so, we also expand the circle of players who may be interested in our production. Animal Husbandry meets the expectations of those who like farming, while Building Update will attract those players to Green Hell who like to build and develop bases. High ratings of Animal Husbandry and very good sales show that our approach works – says Krzysztof Kwiatek, CEO of Creepy Jar S.A.

This year, the Company also plans to release Spirits of Amazonia 3 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Production works are proceeding according to plan and in the coming weeks the studio will prepare the
expansion pack for certification.

At the same time, Creepy Jar S.A. carries out intensive production activities related to the second, original project called Chimera. In the first half of 2022, the Company worked on key elements and mechanics of the game, gameplay and network code. Bearing in mind the success of introducing co-op mode to Green Hell, Chimera at the time of its release will allow users to play in a cooperative mode for up to 4 players.

– At the end of the year, we would like to have a version of the game on the basis of which we can plan the next year in terms of Chimera’s production, including the possibility to set an approximate early access release date. We work with external contractors on marketing materials, including the CGI trailer and key art. We are still considering the scope of materials and the date of their release in order to achieve the best translation into production and its future success – says Krzysztof Kwiatek.

Chimera will be an advanced base development simulator with survivalist elements, from a first-person perspective, set in a science-fiction setting. The game, unlike Green Hell, will be addressed to more casual players. The total value of expenditures incurred on the production of Chimera by 30 June 2022 amounted to PLN 4.6 million, with PLN 1.7 million incurred in the first half of 2022.
