Over PLN 12 million net profit in H1 2021

Creepy Jar had over PLN 12 million net profit in H1 2021

The creator and publisher of the best-selling game Green Hell, Creepy Jar, has published financial data. The results, after deducting the cost of the incentive program, are comparable to the previous year’s records.

In the reported period Creepy Jar generated a total of PLN 21.2m in net revenues from Green Hell sales, compared to PLN 23m in H1 last year (-8% y/y). The very high scores were achieved thanks to, among others, the game’s release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, as well as the release of the two-part free expansion pack – The Spirits of Amazonia on PC and the related discounts on Steam. The strategy chosen by the company resulted in as much as PLN 12m net profit, despite the fact that these results were to a large extent burdened with costs related to the incentive program (over PLN 3 million).

– In the first half of this year we managed to complete 3 major projects – release two parts of The Spirits of Amazonia expansion pack and make our game available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This all added up to one of the best periods in the company’s history – it was by far the strongest period since the release of the co-op mode in H1 2020. High revenues from Green Hell more than three years after the release of Early Access version, allow us to develop Chimera project undisturbed – comments company’s results, Krzysztof Kwiatek, CEO of Creepy Jar

At the same time, the company continues to support its longseller. Creepy Jar is working on The Spirits of Amazonia part 3 expansion pack for PC and preparing previous parts of the expansion pack for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. According to management, their bestseller continues to have huge sales potential.

– We believe this is not the end of Creepy Jar’s strong performance – the June releases of The Spirits of Amazonia Part 2 on Steam and Green Hell on consoles, along with Green Hell’s September debut in Asia, will have a significant impact on the second half of the year’s results. We were positively surprised by sales figures from PlayStation and Xbox consoles, which exceeded our original estimates in the first weeks after launch. At the same time, we are not only developing the game, but also conducting marketing activities aimed at leveraging the potential of the over one million wishlist on Steam – concludes the CEO.

Therefore, Creepy Jar actively presents the game on gaming events and organizes further promotional actions. Tomorrow the company will present the Green Hell at Asia’s most important trade show – Tokyo Game Show, and on this occasion the game is discounted by 30% on Steam. At the same time, the company is developing the Chimera project, which will be a title from the popular base building genre with survivalist elements. Already, most of the Creepy Jar’s operational powers are concentrated around it. In the first half of 2021, pre-production works were completed and the actual production stage started.
