Creepy Jar summarises the first half of 2024

In the first half of 2024, Creepy Jar generated over PLN 14.8 million in sales revenues, PLN 5.8 million in EBITDA and PLN 6.1 million in net profit. The studio is fully focused on the production of its second, original IP, called StarRupture.

In the first half of 2024, the Company generated net revenues from the sale of Green Hell in the amount of PLN 14.8 million compared to PLN 19.9 million in the first half of 2023. The decrease in sales revenues by 26% y/y is due to the natural aging cycle of the product. Gross sales by volume in the first half of 2024 on the PC/Steam, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store platforms (versions of the game for which the Company holds publishing rights) amounted to 857 thousand copies, with 104 thousand copies on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. In June 2024, the total gross sales of Green Hell on the a/m platforms exceeded 6.0 million copies. The net profit in the first half of 2024 was PLN 6.1 million (a decrease by 52% y/y), whereas the net margin was 41% (a decrease by 23 p.p. y/y). The decrease in profitability is mainly related to achieving lower sales revenues.

In the first half of 2024, Creepy Jar made two big expansion packs to Green Hell available to PC/Steam players: #19 Flamekeeper and #20 Antetaer. At the beginning of September 2024, #21 Decorations was released on PC/Steam, which significantly expands the existing and adds new possibilities for decorating the built base. This is the latest update to expand the content of Green Hell. According to the developers, Green Hell is already a complete game.

Therefore, the production will continue to be supported by the studio in technical terms, but the developers will no longer work on the preparation of further expansion packs. In mid-August, Creepy Jar released Green Hell for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The game includes expansion packs available so far only on PC – Storage&Transportation, #18 Fortifications and #19 Flamekeeper. With the release of Green Hell for the 9th generation devices, Creepy Jar ceased to provide updates to the previous version of consoles due to their limited technological capabilities.

In the first half of 2024, the Company focused on the production of StarRupture, in particular on the achievement of project milestones aimed at preparing an early access build (a version of the game that the studio will want to release in early access). At the same time, it has been working on the preparation of marketing materials to promote the game. In 2024, the studio published further
devlogs giving a behind-the-scenes look at the StarRupture creation process. In the first one, the developers focused on the base-building elements, while the second one showed the environmental conditions and setting in which the gameplay will take place. At the end of August 2024, the Company released for the first time a gameplay teaser of StarRupture showing one of the main pillars of the game – fighting enemies while defending the base.

The estimated production budget of StarRupture is PLN 26 million. The total value of expenditures incurred on the production of the game as at 30 June 2024 amounted to PLN 20.8 million.
